Child's ordeal shows risks of psychosis drugs for young

Before people go and make stupid uneducated remarks, please read a post like this one. Here is a parent and doctors who use medication responsably. Childhood mental problems are real. I'm also here to tell you that it is hard to talk about because of the stigma around mental problems.
Oregon boy takes family pickup on 100-mile joyride

USA That's funny. Where is it illegal to have a kid use the lawn tractor or farm tractor for that matter? Not in Montana. My kids drive our farm trucks all the time. They aren't insured because they are operated on private land. That's not illegal either.
Mom says she slapped baby who kicked her on flight

Laura, I've got to agree with you on this one. So far in this country it is not illegal to discipline a child. Discipline is not the same as child abuse. A slap or a swat on the behind in my book is not abuse. I wasn't on the plane, didn't witness it etc.

Thanks for your reply and I appreciate the explaination of why you have the opinion you do and I think your points are very valid as well. One thing that I do wonder about this family is if they work out time for the kids to spend time with friends, have sleepovers, etc.

Assumptions? Maybe you are wrong to assume these kids are not being raised by the parents, after all you've only seen the show one time. Even though I've never see the show, I am very familiar with this family via their website, book, articles etc.

Why is it that people think that if a child has responsability at home, chores or helps care for a younger sibling that they aren't leading a normal life? Kids used to do this all the time. Many kids today are spoiled and lazy. I've never seen the Duggers on TV because I don't have TV.
